This Personal Information Collection Statement, which is subject to the Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act and our Privacy Policy, is intended to notify you about the collection of your personal information by the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) for the purpose of carrying on one or more of our functions. The PTA is collecting your full name, DOB and if relevant, details of any concession, pension card, concession SmartRider card, student ID and the name and date of birth of any accompanied children for the purpose of making your booking to use a Transwa service and verifying your entitlement to any concessions you make an application to claim. The information will be used in verifying your identity when you board a Transwa service using your ticket and verifying your entitlement to any concessions you make an application to claim during the booking process. If you do not provide the information to us, or if that information is incomplete or inaccurate, then Transwa may be unable to process your booking to use a Transwa service, and if relevant, verify your concession entitlement and provide you with discounted or concession services. The information may be disclosed to third parties engaged by us to provide services on our behalf; government departments, auditors, emergency service providers, and law enforcement agencies for the purposes of discharging their duties. PTA may also disclose this information to entities located overseas for the purposes of data storage. You should note that information provided to PTA is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1992. You have the right to access and correct your personal information.
